After a sleepy 18 hour train ride, bus and boat, We arrived in Koh Phangan – an island in the south-east of Thailand. Surrounded by the bright blue seas, white sands and the sun beaming down – it really is a little piece of paradise!
However, Koh Phangan is most commonly known by travelers due to its monthly Full Moon Party.
If you enjoy a good party, then this island goes above and beyond the normal. From waterfall parties to paint, pool parties it offers a wide variety of party to fit everyone’s desire!
We stayed in Coral Bungalows which hosted pool parties most nights so if you want a pre-party, this place is pretty awesome! However, if you are wanting some chill time then maybe have a look at what else the island offers!
My favorite parties were definitely the waterfall party and foam party on the beach, although, I always think a party is only as good as who you are with and both they nights we had a great group of people to hang out with. I’m afraid to admit it but by the time the legendary full moon party came around – we were pretty party pooped! However, it was still amazing and not something to be missed.
Koh Phangan has got a lot more to offer than just its parties and don’t get so wrapped up with your daily hangover that you miss out!
We did the Eco nature all in one day trip which you took you all over the island. Picked up by an overland truck, you were then taken to have a shot at Thai boxing, treetop zip-lining, archery and snorkeling at bottle beach! Your guide also takes you in to the jungle to see the viewpoint of Koh Phangan, a waterfall and the famous Chinese temple. This trip also includes elephant riding which you can opt in or out, we opted out and this would remain your decision. Although, I think it’s always worth the time to research any animal activities before taking part 🙂
TOP TIP :
Koh Phangan has lots of different styles of accommodation! Research it thoroughly by reading reviews of others to make sure you end up somewhere that suits your style of travel!
